Incident Summary: On 7/30/2016 at around 1:45 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle crash on Hwy 21 in Morse Township south of Ely.  The driver, Brian Portinen was traveling south on Hwy 21 when he applied his brakes quickly to avoid hitting a fox and went over his handle bars onto the road.  Portinen sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by Ely Ambulance.  Portinen was the only one on the motorcycle.  The incident remains under investigation at this time.
