Incident Summary: The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and St. Louis County Rescue Squad were called upon to assist Lake County with accessing, searching for, and evacuating campers from the Basswood Lake area after strong storms had blown throw over night. Injured parties discovered were removed and the area checked by personnel on the water and by air. Some areas sustained heavy blow down and remain difficult to navigate at this time. The US Forest Service and Lake County will be continuing clean up efforts and further inquiries for conditions in the BWCA or roadways in the Lake County area of the BWCA should be directed to those agencies respectively.
