Resurfacing work begins next week on Vermilion Trail

Construction begins the week of June 6 to resurface nearly 12 miles of County State Aid Highway 4, also known as the Vermilion Trail, running between Island Lake and the Whiteface Reservoir. The project extends from Thompson Lake Road to just south of Marshall Truck Trail.

The road will remain open to traffic throughout the project, with flaggers in place to direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone, as traffic may brake suddenly.

The estimated cost of the project is $3.3 million, and is funded with revenue from the Transportation Sales Tax. Work should be completed by mid-August.
