Changes proposed to Lions Park Disc Golf Course

City staff has been working with local disc golf aficionados on a redesign proposal for the Lions Park Disc Golf Course.

If approved by the City Council at its meeting June 4, the redesign would begin almost immediately, with construction expected to be complete before the end of summer if weather cooperates.

The disc golf course would remain open and largely playable during construction, with intermittent closures on individual holes.

To view a sketch of the proposal and read more details about the redesign, visit www.Engage.ShakopeeMN.gov.

Stay up-to-date on the SandVenture improvement project

Aerial photo of construction as of May 15, 2024

Progress continues on the improvement project at SandVenture Aquatic Park, with the pool liner undergoing installation and imports of new sand scheduled to begin June 6 if weather allows.

As eager as we all are to get back to our favorite sand-bottom pool, a grand opening date can not be confirmed until crews complete the liner and sand installation and are able to fill the pool, ensure the new plumbing components are working properly, and test the new water features.

Essentially, we need to double check that everything is functioning smoothly before we can safely invite our community back. We appreciate your patience as crews work diligently to complete this exciting renovation project!

Visit www.ShakopeeMN.gov/sandventure to stay up-to-date on the project as it evolves.
