Construction for the sanitary sewer, Mayo Employee Parking Ramp has begun!
You may have seen some movement out at Cascade Lake Park. Crews were setting up bypass pumping from Fire Station #3 along Cascade Lake Trail to Mohn Park near Avalon Cove Ct NW to prepare the area for the upcoming sanitary sewer relocation needed for West Transit Village development and Link BRT construction. We anticipate the next portion of construction on the site to begin for the storm water pond, on-site grading, storm sewer and watermain installation in June.
The Link BRT system will reduce travel lanes on 2nd St. SW by converting the outermost lanes to BAT lanes, or a Business Access & Transit lane. The BAT lanes will be dedicated bus lanes that are painted red to indicate to other vehicles on the road that they are not for general traffic use. The BAT lanes will be utilized by the Link BRT and general route buses for Rochester Public Transit. The lanes will be dashed, as shown in the image, to allow general traffic to share the space, like in a turn lane or a driveway entrance. Another important feature of the BAT lanes is that they can also be utilized by emergency vehicles.
