About Siama MatuzungidiBrimming with catchy songs and engaging stories that bring renowned musician Siama Matuzungidi’s rural Congolese culture to life, this charming program features Siama’s spirited singing, masterful finger-picking acoustic guitar and captivating traditional African instruments like Mbira (thumb piano), Lokole (tone drum) and Balafon (marimba). Dallas Johnson narrates and encourages everyone to sing along in Kikongo, Lingala and English while drummer Luke Rivard adds infectious African rhythms. Whenever Siama plays, he hopes you’ll feel inspired to sway and dance and sing along. It’s no wonder people call his music, “the Sound of Happiness”.

About Lady MidnightLady Midnight is an ethereal vocalist and performance artist who draws upon her multidisciplinary background in visual art, dance and Afro-indigenous roots to create work that timelessly reflects our collective lives. She has dedicated her life to using the arts as a power for change and confronting trauma.

About Jae HavocJae Havoc is a convention-bending Hip-Hop artist from Rochester, Minnesota. Crazy Punk-Hop-introspective/chill-aggressive/raw-rappity rap with a bit of soul, dubstep, metal and whatever else sounds good at the time. Complimenting a clever blend of literary and pop culture references with real world wit atop of bombastic production. Jae has also been behind mixes and instrumentals for artists like buzzworthy up-and-coming Seattle artist Brakebill and Twin Cities-based artist Sam Phoenix.

About Annie Mack“After a bunch of years laboring away in the local blues scene, Annie began to branch out and broaden her sound. She was at the convergence of talent, experience and an R&B/neo-soul resurgence. She’s a talented woman who is finally getting her due. Mack is the classic diva. She shifts effortlessly from a Mavis Staples gospel to MoTown soul to a Koko Taylor growl. Her four piece band is rock solid and is the frame for the lady in the middle. It’s old school. And old school is still a school because, done right, it’s powerful stuff. She’s powerful stuff.” — Twin Cities Media Net
