As part of the ongoing I-494 project, the ramp from southbound I-35W to westbound I-494 will be closed starting Monday, July 24th. This closure will last until mid-November. The main detour route for this closure is to use westbound Highway 62 and southbound Highway 100. There will be an additional detour route posted at the existing interchange for drivers who enter southbound I-35W from 66th Street.
Poolapalooza Cardboard Boat Races! Saturday July 22nd - 2:00 p.m.
Come to the Richfield Pool this Saturday at 2pm to cheer on your favorite cardboard boating team! Teams will race their homemade cardboard & duct tape boats across the Richfield Pool in multiple heats for a chance to win season passes and daily passes to the pool.
The event is free with season pass or day pass entry - and season passes are now being sold at a discounted rate!

Discounted Groceries at the Richfield Community Center
Fare for All
Did you know that you can shop for groceries at the Richfield Community Center?
Once per month, the Fare for All program sets up a pop-up grocery store, where you can shop for discounted produce boxes, proteins, and more - at prices around 40% off retail. This popular monthly event is a Richfield Recreation program, and is open to all shoppers, regardless of income level.
Credit, debit, cash & EBT are accepted.
Location: Richfield Community Center, 7000 Nicollet Ave, Richfield, MN, 55423.

HRA/EDA Position Open
The City is currently looking for one resident to fill an open seat on the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and Economic Development Authority (EDA). As a member, you will serve on both the HRA and EDA.

Applications will be accepted from July 17 through July 30. Interviews will be scheduled in early August which will be held at City Hall.

Quicksteps Baseball with the Richfield Historical Society
The Richfield Historical Society is bringing back Quick Steps Baseball - a baseball game played using the rules (and uniforms) from the 1860's!
This free event hosted by the Richfield Historical Society will be held in the field behind the Bartholemew House at 6901 Lyndale Ave S.
Saturday, July 22nd, game starts at 12:30pm

Save the Date: August 9 - Joyful Riders Community Bike Ride w/ DJ!
The Joyful Riders Club is coming to Richfield! Come out for this fun-filled, dance-paced community bike ride around beautiful Richfield. The ride will feature live music with DJ Dev, some bike-focused highlights, refreshments at the award-winning inclusive playground, fun and new friends!
Prepare to pedal, groove, and learn about everything the community is doing to prioritize cycling and bike/ped safety. Don't forget to bring your lights and smiles to brighten up the night!

Penn Fest is back! Save the date for Sunday, Sept 17th, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The event temporarily closes Penn Avenue to car traffic and welcomes community groups, local businesses, and vendors to create a fun and festive environment for people to walk, bike, skate and gather along the avenue.
An estimated 8,000+ attended Penn Fest in 2022.
Penn Fest is now accepting applications for booths from community groups, businesses, food vendors, pet vendors, market and artisan groups, entertainers, and individual parties.
2023 Richfield Home Tour
Come learn how your neighbors transformed their cramped living rooms, dated kitchens, and mismatched additions into functional and beautiful homes. Find local experts to guide you in your own renovations and learn about city-sponsored remodeling programs available to Richfield residents. Saturday, October 7 from 1pm to 5pm
Tour visitors can choose to visit any or all of the homes on the tour. The tour is a free, self-guided event.
