Team up for the Hoop Local tourney
Registration for the 2nd annual Hoop Local 3v3 Tournament & Community Fundraiser closes this Friday, July 14th. This year's tournament is on Saturday, July 22nd, starting at 10 a.m. at Donaldson Park. Teams can be all the same gender or a mix, and participants must be at least 16 years old. Community members are encouraged to come out and enjoy music, food trucks, vendors, and giveaways. Proceeds from this year's event will go towards four new MegaSlam XL hoops for Taft Park. Hoop Local is a production of Richfield Leadership Network, the City of Richfield, The Sports Link, and Tournament Director Carl Scales. Premier sponsors include Visit Richfield, Best Buy, BODYARMOR Sports Drink, and Dynamic Drips.

Register your block party for Night to Unite by July 18
Start planning ways to celebrate community with your neighbors at the annual Richfield Night to Unite celebration on the evening of Tuesday, August 1. Each year, roughly 200 block parties are held throughout the community, allowing neighbors to connect and enjoy an evening together.
Parties are strongly encouraged to register with the city. Registering your party will allow you to have the opportunity to receive a visits from Richfield Police, Fire or other city leaders, as time permits. By registering you can also receive cones if you wish to block off your street. Cones for this event will be delivered and picked up free of charge for residents registering and completing the barricade request portion of the online registration.
Register your party online with a simple webform by July 18.

Aging Eyes Initiative
Over 25,000 Minnesotans will experience vision loss in the next five years. The Aging Eyes Initiative is a community partnership to expand the reach of the low-vision services for MN seniors experiencing any type of vision loss. Learn what free resources and support is available to seniors from the State Services for the Blind.
The event is free and a take-home lunch will be provided to all attendees. Call the Community Center to register: 612-861-9385.

Hwy 77 Underpass now open!
The Highway 77 Underpass is now open to traffic, along with Richfield Parkway. While the contractor is completing final punchlist items, the trails, sidewalks and traffic lanes are all available for use. Big thanks to all the partners, staff and residents who patiently saw this project through to completion.

Richfield symphonic band
Next Tuesday, join the Richfield Symphonic Band at 6:30 pm at the bandshell (636 East 66th Street). Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets.
The program will include "American Riversongs," "From Sea to Shining Sea," and "Beautiful Colorado," as well as "Satchmo!" a medley of tunes made popular by Louis Armstrong.
Also on July 18, the 11 a.m. kids concert will feature Sticks & Tones.

Richfield Splashpad: Vote for your favorite design!
A new splash pad is coming to Richfield next year and you're invited to vote for the design option you think would be best! Visit the link below to vote. The survey will remain open through Sunday, July 16.
This free facility will open in 2024 and be located next to the Richfield Pool. The splash pad will share resources with the pool, saving considerable expense, and will have a separate entrance to provide free access, even when the pool is closed.

Join Commuter Services and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for the free webinar on Wednesday, July 26, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The webinar will feature project leaders from MnDOT and cover the project goals, timelines, expectations, detours and vision for the full I-494 Airport to Highway 169 vision.
Commuter Services will also be on hand to share information about commute options that may ease the burden of sitting in construction traffic. This webinar will be recorded for on-demand viewing. All registrants will receive webinar slides and a link to the on-demand recording after the webinar.
