Lace up your sneakers for the Urban Wildland!
The 21st Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K is Saturday, July 29th! It is not too late to start training. This race is made for the community by the community and supports Wood Lake Nature Center and its environmental education partnership with the Richfield Public School District. The Half Marathon course winds through shaded residential neighborhoods, natural areas and features six of Richfield's neighborhood parks.
Not into running? Volunteers are also needed!

Joe Carr named Outstanding Citizen for 2023
The Richfield Human Rights Commission is thrilled to present this year's Gene and Mary Jacobsen Outstanding Citizen Award to Joe Carr. An awards ceremony will be held on June 27, at 6 p.m. at the Richfield Municipal Center (6700 Portland Ave.).
The Gene and Mary Jacobsen Outstanding Citizen Award is awarded to a family, group, organization, business, or individual that lives or works in Richfield who has shown outstanding community service, a commitment to human rights, or efforts to improve our community and make it a better place for all. The winner of the award is selected by the Richfield Human Rights Commission every April.

Register now for Bike Adventure for 6-8th graders
Explore the streets, trails, and parks of Richfield on two wheels! This one-day camp will include a quick safety and skills check, and then it's off on a casual tour of the city. Students will travel by bike throughout the entirety of Richfield—and even dip into Minneapolis for a lap around Lake Nokomis—with stops to eat, hydrate, and appreciate the sights and sounds of the community.
This program is a collaboration between Wood Lake Nature Center and the Richfield Public Schools Safe Routes to School program.

This weekend: check out the Latina Women's Summer Fair!
On Saturday, June 24, the Latina Women EXPO Feria de Verano (Summer Fair), will take place at Hope Church (7132 Portland Avenue) from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event will feature forty local Latina vendors with crafts to exclusive jewelry, delicious food and more. The event is free and open to the public.
Come out to this amazing event to support local Latina entrepreneurship.

Friday/Saturday Fun: Storytime with Richfield PD!
This weekend, swing over to Augsburg Adventure Park (7000 Nicollet Avenue) on Friday or Saturday morning to enjoy storytime with Richfield's police officers. All sessions begin at 10 am.
Food Truck Friday will also be at the park on Friday! After you’ve had some fun at the park, satisfy your appetite with the Muddy Tiger food truck. Food is served from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

In case you missed it....
Last week, dozens of Latina women gathered virtually and in-person at Richfield city hall for a meeting of the Mujeras Latinas Unidas network. The group toured the police department, learned about the local Joint Community Police Partnership program from Hennepin County and had an amazing conversation.
The Mission and Vision of Mujeres Latinas Unidas MN is to create a space for Latina women who work in non-profit organizations and/or volunteer in the community to share resources, information and discuss strategies amongst each other to better serve the community.
