Summer construction to begin on 494
This summer, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) begins its work on the I-494 project, from the MSP airport to Highway 169.
The first phase of the project will include the construction of E-ZPass lanes on I-494 from Hwy 100 to I-35W in each direction and the addition of a new ramp at the I-35W and I-494 interchange. MnDOT will also be replacing the bridges crossing over I-494 at Portland Ave., Nicollet Ave., and 12th Ave., and adding a new pedestrian bridge at Chicago Ave.
This month, residents can expect overnight construction to create intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-494 between East Bush Lake Road and the I-35W/I-494 interchange.

In case you missed it....State commits $12M to new nature center!
Wood Lake Nature Center won big this legislative session when the approved bonding bill included the full $12 million request to fund a new nature center building. This funding, along with $3 million in federal funding, goes a long way to making the dreams of a new nature center a reality for our community. Many thanks go to Amy Markle, Recreation Services Director, along with Mayor Supple and Councilmember Trautmann who testified on behalf of the project.
