Learn more about the upcoming Off-Road Bike Park!
Next fall, the city will be partnering with the Three Rivers Park District and Pathfinder Trail Builders on a facility that will provide different off-road bike amenities, such as pump tracks, ramps and sloped wood decking at Taft Lake Park. Open houses are being held this spring to gather feedback and educate residents about the project. All meetings will take place on-site at Taft Park, near the parking lot (62nd Street and Bloomington Avenue). Come out to learn all about the project!
Two open houses will be held next week:

Provide feedback for the Southdale Library building project
Built in 1971, the Southdale Library serves the residents of Edina, Bloomington, Richfield, and Minneapolis with its extensive collections, meeting spaces, and community-responsive programming. Planning for a new library building began in 2015, was paused in 2020, and has now resumed. Hennepin County plans to build a new library on the existing site.
As the county plans for a new library building, they are seeking resident input. Share your thoughts in the survey linked below.

HRA/EDA seeking to fill vacancy
Oftentimes, the work of the Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and Economic Development Authority (EDA) seem focused on bricks and mortar, pro formas and site plans. But behind all that are people who are served by the projects and programs of the HRA/EDA.
The city is looking to fill a vacancy on these governing bodies (one person would serve on both). Applications are being accepted through June 1. Consider applying for this role that is guaranteed to touch the lives of others.

Two new Mega-Slams land at Donaldson Park
The installation of new basketball hoops at Donaldson Park began last week and are now up and ready for games! These brand new Mega Slam standards are some of the best outdoor basketball equipment on the market. Last year's Hoop Local tournament raised funds to add these hoop standards to Donaldson Park. They also can be found in Christian Park, Roosevelt Park and Washington Park. Thank you to the Public Works department for their time and amazing amount of energy in putting these up. The community loves them and we look forward to making more memories on the court!
