Get out & ride: May is National Bike Month!
Richfield is known for its passionate cyclists, great bike infrastructure and multimodal transportation planning. All of those efforts mean great bike events will be landing in Richfield this summer. Raise a glass and celebrate Drinking Water Week!
For more than 40 years the American Water Works Association and its members have used Drinking Water Week as a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to recognize the vital role water plays in our daily lives.
To celebrate, we’re offering limited tours of the Richfield Water Plant! To attend, you must RSVP to staff to secure your spot on the tour. The tour will take place at
- Tour 1: Thurs, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
- Tour 2: Saturday, May 13 at 9 a.m.

Farmers Market kicks off the 2023 season
The Richfield Farmers Market is back for it's 34th summer at Veterans Park! On Saturday mornings, you'll find a wide range of farmers, food makers, chefs and artisans - plus a rotating selection of activities, including live music, yoga, special event days and educational booths. Join us for Vehicle Day at Southdale
Get up close to fire trucks, police cars, garbage trucks, snow plows, buses and more cool rigs at Vehicle Day on Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The event is free.
Head over to the Southdale Parking Lot (southeast corner, near 69th Street and York Avenue) and see the vehicles that make our community work. The event is held rain-or-shine. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Coordinated by Edina and Richfield Recreation Departments and co-sponsored by Southdale Center.

High School Art Show opens on May 5
Join us for the opening of the High School Art Show hosted by the Richfield Arts Commission at the Richfield Community Center on Friday, May 5 from 5 - 7 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments while meeting the artists behind the exhibit. The High School Art Show runs at the community center from May 5 through the end of June.

Calling all community leaders! Save the date for the Hometown Leadership Gathering
Local leaders and community members are invited to the Hometown Leadership Gathering on May 18 at 6 p.m. at the Richfield Community Center. This gathering will feature leaders from around the community of Richfield. Come network and hear from three local keynote speakers as they consider what it means to live, work, and lead with a community-first perspective.
Speakers, all of whom are Richfield residents, include Bukata Hayes (VP of Racial & Health Equity at Blue Cross Blue Shield), Simon Trautmann (Richfield City Coucil Member & Principle Owner at Trautmann Martin Law, PLLC), and Emilia González Avalos (Executive Director of UnidosMN/NavigateMN).

May HRA/EDA meeting rescheduled to June 5
Due to lack of quorum, the May 15, 2023 Economic Development Authority (EDA) Meeting and Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) meeting have been rescheduled to June 5.
