Celebrate Earth Day this weekend!
Come celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day this weekend in and around Richfield!
Saturday, April 22: The Mall of America is partnering with Repowered for a free Electronics Recycling Collection event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the East parking lot. Drop off your used tablets, laptops and cell phones for FREE!
Sunday, April 23: Join your community at Wood Lake Nature Center from 1 to 4 p.m. The event is free and no pre-registration is required. Visitors can help with prairie and forest restoration activities, park clean-up and other projects. We'll also have booths from community and environmental groups. Soul to Soul BBQ food truck will on-site with their delicious BBQ during the afternoon.
Monday, April 24: Wood Lake Nature Center will be the host of a Shredding Event from 12 to 2 p.m. Participants can bring up to two grocery bags of materials per vehicle to the mobile shredding truck. The event is free and is co-sponsored by The Schneeberger Group - KW Edina; Richfield team office, The Pines Senior Living, Monarch Healthcare and Home Instead.

Donaldson Park playground open house
On Monday, residents and park-users are invited to attend an engagement session to provide input on the future replacement of Donaldson Park's playground. Come out and meet staff at the playground (7434 Humboldt Avenue) from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

A Toast to Richfield
Join the Richfield Foundation and Richfield Liquor stores at this year's 'A Toast To Richfield' event on May 11. Attendees can sample wine, beer and spirits from 20+ vendors and enjoy delicious appetizers from local restaurants. The event helps to raise $25,000 to support the community!

Get ready for Hoop Local 2023
The 2nd Annual Hoop Local 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament and community fundraiser is returning to Donaldson Park on July 22. Last year’s inaugural tournament raised $10,000 for new hoops at Donaldson Park and the proceeds from the 2023 tournament will go towards new hoops for Taft Park.

Inaugural EcoFair a success!
Last weekend, more than 500 visitors attended Richfield's first EcoFair at Richfield High School. Attendees were able to learn from vendors, explore (and drive!) electric vehicles, participate in kids activities and hear from speakers and presenters. The event was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Richfield and the City of Richfield. Thank you to all the volunteers that made the event so successful!

In case you missed it.... Richfield ribbon cuttings!
Last week, Mayor Mary Supple had the honor of attending two different ribbon-cutting ceremonies in our community.
On April 11, Memorial Blood Centers debuted their new location in Richfield at 6601 Lyndale Avenue. The new center features state-of-the-art equipment, free parking, a comfortable lounge area, an enhanced hospitality experience – and new Sunday hours.

On April 12, the Best Buy Teen Tech Center was unveiled at Richfield Middle School. The center will help students develop critical skills through awesome hands-on activities in photography, augmented and virtual reality, digital media, 3-D design, audio engineering, film production and more.
