Release the puddles!
During winter, storm drains can often become blocked by ice or snow, leading to water pooling in the street once snow starts to melt. You can help prevent localized flooding by keeping storm drains clear of ice and snow. If you choose to clear a blocked storm drain, put safety first: be aware of vehicle traffic and slippery conditions.
To make a positive difference and protect our water resources year-round, consider signing up to adopt a specific drain in your neighborhood. Sweeping up debris and pollutants before they get into the storm sewer helps keep our lakes, ponds and rivers cleaner.
