Snow Emergency declared from 7 a.m. Wednesday, until streets are plowed curb-to-curb
The City of Richfield has declared a Snow Emergency, effective at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4 and lasting until the plows have gone through the city and cleaned up curb-to-curb.
A Snow Emergency is declared when 4 inches of snow has fallen or upon designation by the city manager. The 4 inch threshold was reached overnight. Plows will be out today to clear streets of snow.
During the Snow Emergency:
- On-street parking is prohibited. Vehicles must be moved off the streets, as soon as possible
- Ticketing and/or towing of cars remaining on the streets will begin at 8 p.m. on January 4.
- If you need a place to park your car, Richfield has Snow Emergency Parking Areas designated on the east and southeast sides of town (see map below).
- Place trash containers behind the curb line, not in the street.
- Help our Emergency Responders by shoveling around fire hydrants in your area.
Crews will do clean-up plowing on Thursday, in light of the predicted ongoing light snow.
