Sheridan Pond dredging project to begin this winter
This winter, the Sheridan Park Pond Improvements project will get underway at Sheridan Park (6500 Upton Avenue). The project includes dredging of the pond and the removal of many of the scrub trees within the basin. Opening the tree canopy will allow for ground cover establishment. The planting of diverse pollinator plant species, including trees and shrubs, will occur next season. This project will see the restoration of the functional nature of the pond as well as an enhancement of the adjacent terrestrial area and park. If you would like to learn more about this project, consider attending an upcoming Open House:

Some lucky youngsters were in class on Tuesday, despite school not being in session. Richfield's famous 'Home Alone Safety Day' helped more than 15 kids learn about personal and home safety, internet safety, phone skills, fire safety, escape plans and what to do in severe weather. Plus, time for snacks and dodgeball, of course. :)
