A Message from the Mayor
“Over the past few days our community has experienced a range of emotions, from heartbreak and overwhelm to fear and confusion. But into that fear and confusion we have also received an outpouring of love and support for our families and students. I want to offer my sincerest thanks to the staff at Richfield Public Schools and the Richfield Police Department for their tireless efforts over the past five days. In addition, a huge amount of gratitude goes out to all of the organizations, community members and young people who have shown up to express their love for this community..."

Round-Up campaign for Donaldson Trees a success!
Each quarter, Richfield's four municipal liquor stores offer customers a chance to donate to local initiatives by rounding-up their total purchase to the nearest dollar. While September is not quite over, the most recent campaign has raised more than $2,600 to go towards funding replacement trees for Donaldson Park. Last summer the park lost 45 diseased ash trees due to the Emerald Ash Borer infestation.
Previous campaigns have helped fund the off-leash dog park, the Augsburg Adventure Park inclusive playground, butterfly and pollinator gardens and transportation scholarships for local schoolchildren.

PennFest this year took place on September 18, 2022 and had a record number of vendors and visitors to the event.
The PennFest committee would like to say a big “Thank you!” to everyone that helped make the event an exciting and fun place to be. The committee is also asking all visitors and vendors to participate in a short survey in order to better plan next year's festivities.

Reminder: Take care of your leaves
Richfield city ordinance prohibits placing leaves and lawn clippings into a public street, drain or gutter. As we enter the fall season, leaves all around Minnesota are starting to fall and pile up. Although pretty in the trees, they can cause issues if they make their way onto the streets. Leaves and grass clippings can clog storm drains and cause flooding, make their way into local ponds, and even endanger water quality.
Residents with curbside collection can sign up for seasonal, or on-call (pay-per-bag), yard waste collection by contacting their hauler or the City.
