This Sunday: PennFest!
Penn Fest, Richfield's annual open streets event, is just around the corner. This Sunday, join thousands of people along Penn Avenue for live music, delicious food, hundreds of vendors and plenty of community fun. Various city departments will be present, along with all the other great partners from across the city. Bring your bikes, scooters, strollers and pets along for the fun too!
Please note: Penn Avenue will be closed to all traffic on the day of the event from Hwy 62 to 72nd Street, from approximately 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Family Yoga at Augsburg Park
On Friday at 10 a.m., join the Augsburg Library staff for this week’s Friday Fun at Augsburg Adventure Park. This week's activity will be an interactive session of family yoga. The event is free and fully accessible. Park at the Community Center (7000 Nicollet Ave).

Edible Plants & Food Access
On Saturday, from 9:30 - 11 a.m., come out to Wood Lake Nature Center (6710 Lake Shore Drive) to learn more about the City’s Climate Action Plan and how it relates to food access. The event will include a short hike, and expert guidance on what edible plants are in your backyard. Staff and participants will make and enjoy muffins that include wild edible plants.

Bartholomew House turns 170!
This Saturday, from 12 - 4 p.m., come and celebrate the 170th birthday of the Bartholomew House at the Richfield Historical Society (6901 Lyndale Avenue). See a brand new exhibit about the house and artifacts on display from that time period. Tours of the house will also be offered to get a feel of life in early Richfield.

Community discussion on safety and mental health
On September 20 at 11:00 a.m. the Richfield Police Department will be hosting a community discussion on safety and mental health.
The Richfield police department and staff from the Vitals App will facilitate a discussion highlighting what the police department is doing to keep residents safe.
During the event, the Vitals team will share updated information and answer any questions you might have about the app. Representatives of current users and advocacy groups are also expected to be in attendance.
The event will be held in-person in the Bartholomew Room at the Richfield Municipal Center (6700 Portland Avenue).
Save the Date: Mixto Mural Reveal Party, September 23
On Friday, September 23, join the Richfield community for the reveal of the Mixto Mural at 72nd and Chicago Avenue. The event will feature free food, face painting, music, dancing and opportunities to chat with the artists. In case you missed it.... Minnesota Vikings spotted in Richfield
Yesterday, five Minnesota Vikings, including Camryn Bynum and Greg Joseph, landed in Richfield to help assist at the Habitat for Humanity construction site at 6600 Logan Avenue.
"We say we're building a house, but I look it more as building a home," Bynum said.
