Public Art installed at Rya Apartments
Earlier this month, new sculptures were installed at the RF64 townhomes and Rya Apartments, located on Richfield Parkway, across from Target and Home Depot. Cattails, by artists Justin Hossle and Remo Campopiano, book-end the apartment buildings, while Breeze, by sculptor Foster Willey can be found in the center of the development.
Funding for this public art was provided, in part, by a grant from the Metropolitan Council.
Richfield is home to more than 20 pieces of public art. View the Public Art Tour brochure for more information about these hidden gems.

Spotlight on boulevard mowing
Residents take great pride in how the city looks. It might come as a surprise, but private property owners are responsible for the boulevards adjacent to their properties.
Richfield City Code Section 811.03 states: “A private property owner is responsible for maintenance of the boulevard. Such maintenance includes, but is not limited to mowing grass, watering and removing weeds.”
Please make sure when you mow your yard that you’re also mowing the boulevard.

SafeCam: RPD's newest crime prevention and investigative tool
Do you have a surveillance camera at your residence or business? If so, Richfield Police would like to partner with you to keep your neighborhood safe. Security cameras can be a great tool when solving crimes, but police do not always know who has surveillance cameras. Access to this potentially vital information can help solve crimes.
With SafeCam, Richfield Police are asking residents and businesses to voluntarily register their private video surveillance systems with the department and allow officers to contact them should a crime occur in, or near, where their camera is installed.

Archery camp closes out summer season at Wood Lake Nature Center
Wood Lake wrapped up its summer camp season with a week of archery! Campers learned archery safety, perfected skills and played a variety of archery games to help improve their aim. This was the first beginner archery program offered through the recreation department and was a great success. Last fall, two staff members earned their instructor's certificates in archery, and new equipment was purchased this spring. With the help of Wood Lake Staff, a new archery range was also created at the Emily Day picnic pavilion.
Recreation and Wood Lake Nature Center have family archery programs scheduled for this fall calendar, and hope to grow the program for the future.
