Tips from the Housing Inspectors
- Be sure to check furnace and air conditioner filters on a monthly basis and change them as often as the manufacturer recommends.
-
Single family and duplex rentals: Fences are required around any pool deeper than 24 inches or with a surface exceeding 150 square feet. If your tenants have a pool which exceeds those measurements, make sure there's a fence, as required by city ordinance, 420.20.

Crime Prevention
The Richfield Police Department is participating in Minnesota’s Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention Pilot Program (Minn. Stat. § 325E.21 subd.2b). This is a marking program called CatGuard which was launched by the state’s Commerce Fraud Bureau. Let your renters know about this important theft-prevention program.
