The Richfield Recap - June 23, 2022 |
|
Summer road construction ahead
Beginning next week and lasting through mid- August, Richfielders should prepare for traffic delays due to local and regional road projects.
-
Lyndale Ave: Beginning Monday, June 27 - July 1, northbound Lyndale Avenue will be completely closed to traffic between 65th Street and 64th Streets during the day. This closure is needed due to significant utility work in the street as part of a nearby redevelopment project. The southbound travel lanes of Lyndale will not be closed, but some delays can be expected in the area.
-
Hwy 62/Cedar Ave: Work continues in the area of Hwy 62 and Hwy 77/Cedar Avenue, with closures on the ramps and Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis. That work is expected to be complete around June 28.
-
Hwy 77 closures: Beginning on July 5, the southbound lanes of Hwy 77 will be closed from Hwy 62 to I-494. The work is expected to last three weeks. All on and off-ramps will also be closed during this time. Following this closure, and lasting for another three weeks, the northbound lanes and exits on Hwy 77 will be closed. Residents can expect local delays as traffic begins detouring throughout the community.

In case you missed it....
Summer camps are off to a great start at Wood Lake Nature Center! Last week during the Pixies and Sprites camp, preschoolers learned about the forest, marsh and prairie ecosystems. Campers also helped the local pixies and sprites break the curse of the tricky trolls. Over the course of this summer, Wood Lake will offer 22 summer camps for over 200+ kids, ages 4-12 years old.
