Citywide garage sales kick off today
Over 80 households are participating in this weekend's citywide garage sales, beginning today throughout the city. Take the opportunity to go green by purchasing gently used products, get out and see your neighbors and enjoy the beautiful weather. See the map and list for each sale's days and hours of business, as well as special items they have for sale. Hard copies of the maps/lists can be picked up at Richfield Liquor stores, Wood Lake Nature Center, the Community Center and Richfield City Hall.

Richfield police honor fallen officers at statewide memorial
 Three Richfield police officers stood guard at the Peace Officer Memorial in St. Paul this past weekend. The annual event honors the service and sacrifice of the 297 Minnesota peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Law enforcement officers from across the state stood in silent vigil for 20-minute shifts during the 24 hours prior to the Remembrance Memorial Service. Additionally, RPD’s Officer Schultz had the privilege of the 'walking the line' during the memorial.

 Are you struggling to pay your mortgage?
If you are still struggling to cover your housing expenses due to the ongoing pandemic, help is available. Applications are now being accepted to help cover past-due expenses like mortgages, taxes, utilities bills and more. Applications will be accepted through June 17.

 Fare for All sale on Tuesday
On May 24, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Community Center, Fare for All will be offering their budget-friendly bulk grocery program. Walleye fillets are the May special, along with the regular meat-packs, produce-packs and other specialty items.

Reminders for summer
Watering Restrictions in Effect: Richfield’s summer watering restrictions are now in effect. Between May 1 and September 30, no lawn or garden sprinkling or other irrigation may occur between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Exceptions include watering new sod, landscaping or seed.
Summer Code Compliance: Ordinances are in place to assist in keeping the city looking great and property values strong. If you would like to make a complaint or learn more about the city's ordinance, contact Environmental Health via the online form or by phone.

 'Friday Fun' at Augsburg Park
This week the Friday Fun program at the Augsburg Adventure Park (7000 Nicollet Ave) will host Read-a-Story Theater. The event, and the playground, is fully accessible and open to all.

 Sat: Vehicle Day at Southdale
Come down to the Southdale Parking lot (68th & Xerxes) on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. to see a bunch of vehicles up close. Vehicles include: a Loader, Log Truck, CAT Loader, Dump Truck, Squad Car, Fire Truck, Zamboni, tow truck, Army vehicles, a recycling truck and more. The event is held rain-or-shine.

 Sun: Zumba in the Park
This weekend, move and groove to great music out in the sunshine and fresh air. On May 22, CMS Fitness and Richfield Recreation invite you to a Zumba Party at the Richfield Band Shell (parking at the Ice Arena, 636 E 66th Street). Join in on either Zumba Kids at 3 p.m. or Zumba For All at 3:45 p.m.
