Friday Fun begins tomorrow at Augsburg Park
This week kicks off the Friday Fun program at the Augsburg Adventure Park (7000 Nicollet Ave). Twice a month, on Fridays at 10 a.m., the playground will host engaging activities for children and families. This week, the Richfield firefighters will read a story and hang out to answer questions. The event, and the playground, is fully accessible and open to all. Upcoming events include:
- May 13: Storytime with the Richfield Firefighters
- May 20: Read-a-Story Theater
- June 10: Storybook Hike: I Like Me (English/Spanish)

Celebrate Public Works Week with a tour of the Water Plant
Have you ever wondered how Richfield makes such remarkable water? Now is your chance to find out! Richfield Public Works will be hosting water plant tours next week in honor of the 2022 Public Works Week.
Two tours will be offered on May 21 and spots are still available. The first tour will begin at 9 a.m. and the second tour will begin at 11 a.m.

Morning Bird Hike with the Mayor
On May 19, from 8-9 a.m., join Mayor Maria Regan Gonzalez and the Urban Bird Collective on a free spring hike at Wood Lake Nature Center. Many species of warbler, sparrow, and other birds use the nature center on their migration to nesting grounds further north. Hike is free, but registration is required. Spanish translation available for the event.

Spots still available for Police and Fire Safety Day
Do you have a Richfield 3rd Grader? Only a few spots remain for this summer’s Police and Fire Safety Day on June 14. Kids will spend the day learning about fire, bike, electrical and personal safety. They'll also gain skills in basic first aid, hands-only CPR and bullying prevention, all while being mentored by Richfield police officers and firefighters. Lunch and snacks provided with registration.

65th Street Project Open House, May 19
The 65th Street Reconstruction Project will be breaking ground in the coming weeks! Area residents and other interested parties are encouraged to attend the open house being held on May 19 at Woodlake Point Condominiums (6500 Woodlake Drive). To accommodate a variety of schedules, the project team will be holding two sessions: 12-2 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m.
