Wood Lake Nature Center promotes project
Today, we celebrate 51 years of Wood Lake Nature Center as a treasured gathering place in the community and the region. In recent weeks, staff has been sharing its dream of a safer, more efficient, more accessible building with visiting elected officials, including Representative Ilhan Omar, and members of the Minnesota House and Senate Finance Committees. These policymakers have come to learn more about a proposed new building that can accommodate the 730 school groups and 100,000 visitors that gather at Wood Lake each year.
Staff will continue to share this vision with the public and other federal, state, and local officials in an effort to find solutions to fund a new building and keep Wood Lake Nature Center viable into the future.
