 Step To It Begins May 1

Get active with your community! The Step To It Challenge, which runs from May 1 to May 28, is a great opportunity to get active and represent Richfield, either as an individual or with a group. Participants log their daily or weekly activity. It's not just about walking; most activities can be converted to steps using the online step conversion chart.

Paddleshare
Reservations open this Saturday, April 30. Season begins May 20.
Reserve a kayak (single or double) or paddleboard online, then take it out for a spin on Taft Lake! Beginning this Saturday, reservations can be made online (beginning May 20) to reserve a kayak or paddleboard. Then, on the date you reserved, head over to Taft Lake (62nd and Bloomington) and take your equipment from the lockers on-site. A wheelchair-accessible dock and launch makes boarding easy! Solo kayaks are $20/4 hours, paddleboards are $25/4 hours, and double kayaks are $35/4 hours. For more information, visit richfieldmn.gov/paddleshare. Provided by Three Rivers Park District.

Learn to Play Chinese Mah Jongg
Wednesdays, May 18-June 8, 12:00-2:00 pm Community Center (7000 Nicollet Ave) $25/four lessons The goal of this class is to share the joy of the Chinese game of Mah Jongg! All skill levels welcome. Friday Fun @ Augsburg Adventure Park
7000 Nicollet Ave Begins Friday, May 13, 10:00 am Held on select Fridays
Spend the morning listening to stories shared through puppets, books, Read-A-Story Theater and story time with staff. Each week will include new adventures to share, followed by playtime at the playground.

Mother's Day-Paint Together
Friday, May 6, 4:00-5:30 pm, $35/pair (includes one co-painted canvas) Community Center (7000 Nicollet Ave) Just in time for Mother’s Day on May 8! Register as a pair and bring a special child in your life (age 5-12) to paint a beautiful canvas alongside you. Class instruction led by Cheers Pablo; no painting experience necessary. Everything is provided, just come and paint! Cookies and beverages will be provided. Pre-registration is required at the link below. Registration deadline: Wednesday, May 4.

Richfield City-Wide Garage Sale
Thursday-Saturday, May 19-21 Registration Fee: $25
The Richfield City-Wide Garage Sale is back! Hold your garage sale (Richfield addresses only) on one/all of the days of the community-wide sale (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, May 19, 20, or 21); register it with us for $25 and we'll help drive customers your way! Your sale will be included in the official list and map, which is published online and distributed to all City sites (including all four Richfield Liquor Stores). Your sale is also included in an interactive online map and a searchable craigslist listing. Listings include the days and hours of your sale, as well as featured items.
Registration is now open! Find the link to register at the official event page (www.richfieldmn.gov/garagesale) or pick up a registration form at the Community Center. The deadline to register is Monday, May 9.

Kidcreate Studio Art Classes
Kidcreate Studio’s award-winning art classes allow kids to explore art in an environment full of giggles and grins. Kids create fridge worthy masterpieces while learning art concepts and experimenting with different art materials. The curriculum is age-appropriate and designed to inspire. Making a mess is the best with Kidcreate Studio! Registration deadline for each class is 5 days in advance. Classes are held at the Community Center (7000 Nicollet Ave)

Child and Babysitting Clinic
Friday, May 13, 8:00-11:00 am, $55 Central Education Center (7145 Harriet) Deadline to register: May 10
Boys and girls ages 11+ will learn the skills and information necessary to care for infants and children in this American Health & Safety Institute accredited program. This program teaches the importance of responsibility, recognizing an emergency, emergency action steps, personal safety, fire and water safety, infant/child basic care, and also, responding to an unconscious victim, CPR, choking management and basic first aid. Upon successful completion, participants will earn the American Health & Safety Institute Child and Babysitting Safety certification card. Please bring a pen, paper, snack and beverage!

Youth Tennis Lessons
Ages 4-15 years old, all ability levels welcome. Monday–Thursday (rain make-ups on Friday) All lessons are instructed by Coach Scott, our tennis coordinator for over 25 years. All lessons held at Augsburg Tennis Courts (7145 Wentworth Ave). Each week-long session is $30/child (except where noted). Min 4, Max 8 per class.
