Spring Tips from the Housing Inspectors
Grilling season is just around the corner. Remind your tenants that grills of any type are not allowed on apartment balconies, per fire code. Enforcing this requirement protects lives as well as your building!
Spring is also a good time to make sure screens are in working order. Per code, screen doors and windows shall have tightly fitting screens with a minimum 16 mesh per inch. Screen doors (storm doors) shall have a self-closing device in good working condition.
