The Richfield Recap - February 17, 2022 |

Poehlman focused on the future as Community Development Director
Over the past two decades, Richfield has gone from an under-the-radar residential community to one of the most in-demand suburbs in the metro. This popularity stems from the city’s prime location and amenities, but also from the millions of dollars of redevelopment that has been invested over the years.
In a professional capacity, only a few people have been around for it all, and one such person is Melissa Poehlman.
The Richfield City Council has capitalized on that wealth of experience by confirming Melissa Poehlman’s appointment to Director of the Community Development Department. Poehlman has been serving as the interim director since the departure of John Stark in December 2021.
She is the first woman to serve in the role.

Construction begins at 65th and Lyndale
Construction is now underway on the mixed-use redevelopment project at the corner of Lyndale Avenue and 65th Street. The project, once known as Lynk65, is now called The Lynvue. The five-story building will contain 159 residential units and just over 7,000 square feet of commercial space. Demolition of existing buildings will occur in the remainder of February through the end of March, with site grading and utility work in April.

Parking garage safety tips?
Richfield is seeing a spike in parking lot and underground garage thefts, but with a few safety measures, you can keep yourself and your vehicle safe. Crimes often happen simply because the opportunity presents itself.
Here are three simple safety tips to keep in mind about parking:
1. Park in well-lit spaces and limit distractions while parking your car.
2. Play it safe: always lock your vehicle and remove valuables from plain site.
3. Report suspicious activity to building management or police.
