The Richfield Recap - February 3, 2022 |
|
Message from the Mayor
Richfield,
After yesterday's senseless school shooting and killing of a young Richfield scholar, our community and the region is grieving.
Over the last few days, I’ve had an opportunity to connect directly with those most impacted by Tuesday's event and have learned so much about Jahmari.
I've witnessed the strength, bravery and compassion our entire community in response to this tragic event, and have seen how people are creating spaces for grieving and connection during this difficult time. I'm thankful for the quick action taken by our first responders, police department and partner agencies. Their work has ensured that the suspects in this crime were arrested quickly and are being held in custody.
The path ahead of us is long and we are still sorting through the aftermath of the shooting. Thank you to all those who have been checking in our our students, families and community members during this time.
My heart is with you this week,

COVID confusion: updated isolation and quarantine guidelines
Isolate. Quarantine. Social Distance. These are just a few of the words we started using during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the guidelines have shifted and changed as we learned more about the virus. Recently, the Minnesota Department of Health created a very useful graphic to help people determine what they should do if they believe they have been exposed to the virus. We thought you might find it helpful.
