Please join me in welcoming Mille Lacs County to the eCRV Full Use club!

Here is today’s eCRV Fun Fact:

Mille Lacs County: Here is your French lesson of the day: Mille Lacs means “one thousand lakes” and Lake Mille Lacs is the granddaddy of them all. The lake is the second largest inland lake in the state (Red Lake is number one) and a favorite vacation destination for many walleye-loving Minnesotans. Lake Mille Lacs is thought to be one of earliest sites of human settlement in Minnesota and has long been held as a place of great spiritual importance to Native American tribes and die-hard fisherman. If you drive by the lake in the winter you will notice that the majority of the human population in the area has migrated from the mainland and moved out onto the frozen lake to ice fish and have a good-old fashioned time. I am fairly convinced that most of the people in the area actually consider their icehouse to be their principle place of residence and their homes on the mainland are merely temporary settlements.

Please see the attached and newly updated eCRV Map.

Yours truly,
