Tax Professional Tip #18 – Taxpayer Rights Advocate Office

Tax Pro Tips

If your client is having trouble resolving a tax issue with the Minnesota Department of Revenue and they have tried all other solutions, the Taxpayer Rights Advocate Office may be able to help explain their options.

The easiest way to request help from this office is to have a current power of attorney form on file with us and then complete the online Taxpayer Rights Advocate Request Form. When completing this form, include your contact information in one of the comment boxes.

If you are unfamiliar with how to work with the Minnesota Taxpayer Rights Advocate Office, we suggest you take our free webinar, Fundamentals of the Minnesota Taxpayer Rights Advocate Office. Sign up for a session and we’ll show you how to become proficient at working with our advocate staff.
