Update for taxpayers with July 22 and 23 filing and payment deadlines

General header

Due to a global vendor technology issue, some Minnesota Department of Revenue systems have been unavailable, including the ability to file returns and make payments through e-Services.

Because of this technology issue, Revenue is providing a tax filing and payment grace period for all tax types due on Monday, July 22, 2024, and Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Taxpayers will now have until Friday, July 26, 2024, if needed, to file and make their payments without any penalty or interest charges. We encourage taxpayers to file and pay as soon as possible so the department can review and process the return.

The impacted tax types include:

  • Dry Cleaning Solvents Fee, return and payment, monthly
  • Lawful Gambling Tax, return and payment, monthly
  • Metropolitan Landfill Fee, return and payment, monthly
  • Mortgage Registry Tax and Deed Tax, return and payment, monthly
  • Sales and Use Tax, return and payment, monthly and quarterly
  • Solid Waste Management Tax, return and payment, monthly and quarterly
  • Petroleum Tax, return and payment, monthly
  • Propane Fee, return and payment, monthly
