Reminder: Minnesota quarterly withholding tax returns due August 2, 2021

Quarterly Return and Deposit Due Dates

The second quarter (April – June 2021) Minnesota withholding tax return is due . Since July 31 falls on a Saturday this year, returns are due on the following Monday.

Deposits were due according to your semiweekly or monthly deposit schedule.

Exception: You may make your deposit by August 2, 2021, if both of these apply:

  • You withheld $1,500 or less of Minnesota withholding tax in the first quarter (January - March 2021) and
  • You filed first quarter’s withholding tax return on time

State Wages Allocation Reminder

 

Employees' work locations may have changed due to the pandemic. For Minnesota residents, allocate wages to Minnesota regardless of where they work. For nonresidents, allocate wages to the state where they physically performed work; you may need to allocate wages to two or more states.
