Minnesota Department of Revenue

Congress passed and President Trump signed on December 20 a consolidated appropriation bill (H.R. 1865) that includes several changes to the federal tax code, including tax extenders, disaster tax relief, and retirement plan changes.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is reviewing the bill to determine the impacts to the state for all affected tax years. The department’s priority is ensuring all forms and instructions are up to date for the upcoming filing season which will start in late January.

We will provide further guidance and information to tax software providers and tax professionals in the near future.
