Certificate of Rent Paid (CRP) Updates

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is introducing a new way to create and submit Certificates of Rent Paid (CRPs) in e-Services.

Property owners and managing agents who are registered in e-Services as a business will soon have the option to bulk upload renter information and submit CRPs to Revenue electronically.

We also updated the CRP form and its instructions for 2019 based on customer feedback.

What are the benefits of using this new tool in e-Services?

Using the e-Services system to create and submit CRPs will allow property owners and managing agents the ability to better manage and provide CRPs to tenants. Property owners and managing agents will be able to:

• Create and print CRPs from an uploaded file
• Bulk upload CRP information
• Search for and reprint CRPs quickly and easily

When is it available?
This new option will be available for registered e-Services users on Thursday, December 19. We plan to make this option available to all property owners and managing agents in the future.

How did the CRP and instructions change?
We revised the CRP form and the instructions to provide more guidance on completing the CRP form. These changes should make it easier to provide tenants with their rent details.
