Thank you for your feedback about the Minnesota Department of Revenue’s payment voucher change. We’ve heard you and we will allow software products to create return, amended, extension, and estimated payment vouchers for income tax returns.

Returns that include a PTIN must have the PTIN on the payment voucher.  The PTIN will help us identify any issues with the scan line.

You must still link to our Payment Voucher System. Your customers can also schedule payments and print confirmations from our secure Payment Voucher System.

If a customer pays electronically, make sure your products do not generate a voucher in a printed copy of the return.

Business tax types must generate their payment vouchers from our website.

The most efficient ways to make payments are through electronic returns or e-Services.

We will post updates to our voucher specifications and manuals on October 7.

Thank you,
