If batteries are thrown in the trash, they can cause fires, putting people and property at risk. With so many different types of batteries in use these days, it is difficult to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable. Please bring ALL batteries to your nearest waste collection site.

The Board of Commissioners declares July 2025, as Disability Pride Month in Ramsey County.


County Board Workshops

Board workshops

Most weeks, our County Board meets to discuss specific policy issues and receive updates from County Departments and Service Teams in our Board Workshops.

Workshops and discussions are held on Tuesdays and are open to the public. These take place at the Saint Paul City Hall and Ramsey County Courthouse in Suite 220 (2nd floor). You can find the schedule for all upcoming board meetings, workshops, and discussions sessions here.

Community Festivals 

Canadian Days 2025

The 2025 Canadian Days in Little Canada, Minnesota will take place from August 1 to 3 at Spooner Park, featuring three days of family-friendly activities and entertainment. St. Anthony VillageFest

St. Anthony VillageFest is back on August 1 & 2, bringing two days of small-town charm and fun to Central Park! From Friday’s lively parade and block party to Saturday’s full slate of activities—including the 5K, Tot Trot, vendor fair, petting zoo, live music, and fireworks, please join us! Night to Unite

Please join your city’s annual Night to Unite event to celebrate community, connection, and safety on August 5! The evening will bring neighbors together to strengthen local spirit and build positive relationships with public safety teams. Residents can look forward to block gatherings, visits from police and fire personnel. Come meet your neighbors, share safety ideas, and be part of a powerful evening that supports a safer, stronger community!

New Brighton Stockyard Days

New Brighton Stockyard Days will be held August 8–10, 2025, at Long Lake Regional Park. This celebration of New Brighton’s spirited history features everything from the legendary Antique Car Run and craft fair to live music, food trucks, and a parade led by the New Brighton Lions as Grand Marshals in honor of their 75th anniversary! As my series of City Council presentations comes to a close, I want to extend my sincere thanks to each of our City Council members and Mayors for the opportunity to share updates on Ramsey County and local city initiatives. I’m especially grateful to Ramsey County Manager Ling Becker for her partnership and presence at all five meetings. To our dedicated constituents who joined us—thank you for your time, attention, and unwavering commitment to our communities.


Local Affordable Housing Aid (LAHA),

2025 Housing Development Projects

In July 2025, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved $18.4 million to support 29 affordable housing projects across the county. These efforts will result in more than 1,400 housing units being created, preserved, or rehabilitated, including 200 deeply affordable units for residents with the lowest incomes.

In District 2, the Roseville Land Trust will build three single-family homes with four additional homes to be acquired and renovated through a partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. LAHA funding was also allocated to preserve 110 units at McCarrons View Apartments at 60% AMI, with another 167 units reserved at 80% AMI. For more information, please visit this link.

The Kids In Need Foundation is dedicated to ensuring every child has the supplies they need to succeed in school. Their newly expanded facility in Little Canada includes a resource center where educators from under-resourced schools can access donated classroom materials year-round. Whether you're looking to give back or get involved, financial donations and volunteer support help fuel their mission to create equitable learning environments across the country! At the recent New Brighton/Mounds View Business Council Meeting, we received a presentation from Minnesota Multi Housing Association staff. They provided an informative update on current housing trends and shared news specific to our area, offering valuable insights into local market dynamics and development opportunities!

Staff from Xcel Energy recently presented at the Roseville Business Council, highlighting a range of programs designed to help local businesses and residents reduce energy use and lower utility costs. Their offerings include free energy audits, rebates, and even grant opportunities for implementing energy-saving improvements. For information on their programs, please visit this link. 


Association of Minnesota Counties- Waste Management Tours

Members of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC), Solid Waste Work Group recently toured the Waste Management, Twin Cities Recycling facility in Minneapolis, the Dem-Con Shakopee Landfill, and Dakota Prairie Composting in Shakopee. The visit highlighted their commitment to innovation, stainability and environmental stewardship across the metro area!
