| Greetings District 1,
This July, as we observe Disability Pride Month, I want to take a moment to honor the strength, resilience, and leadership of people with disabilities in our community. Disability Pride is not just about visibility—it's about valuing individuals with disabilities as an essential part of the rich diversity that strengthens our neighborhoods, our policies, and our shared future.
My office is committed to building a community where access and inclusion are more than just ideals. That means listening deeply, acting intentionally, and creating opportunities for everyone.
That is why, I invite you to engage with my office by sharing your ideas, voicing your concerns, or stopping by just to connect at one of the community engagement events my office is hosting this month.
Let’s continue to work together to ensure that District One remains a place where everybody belongs.
Sincerely,
 Tara Jebens-Singh
Commissioner, Ramsey County District 1
July is Disability Pride Month, and nearly one in four individuals lives with a visible or invisible disability, making people with disabilities an integral and valuable part of our communities.
This year also marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which established a national mandate to eliminate discrimination and protect the civil rights of people with disabilities.
On July 8, Ramsey County proudly recognized the dedication of disability rights activists, advocates, and organizations, and Ramsey County's Lake Owasso Residential Care Residence through an official proclamation. This acknowledgment honors their ongoing work to promote the rights, independence, and well-being of individuals with disabilities, while also honoring the diverse experiences, talents, and perspectives individuals with disabilities provide to strengthen our society and drive collective progress.
