Commissioner McGuire and Department Represenatives recognizing County Government Month
Greetings, District 2!
April is County Government Month, I was honored to present a board proclamation stressing the important work that counties provide to residents. Representatives from county departments were present to highlight all the various ways that our county services impact our residents' lives.
April is also Earth Month, which honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations. Please see below for the ways that you can recognize and celebrate Earth Month in Ramsey County!
In March, I attended the National Association of Counties (NACo), Legislative Conference with my colleagues. It was an invaluable opportunity to connect with county leaders from across the country and meet with our Federal Congressional Delegation Members on issues that we share.
We appreciated meeting with Congresswoman Betty McCollum and Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith on Ramsey County priorities such as Medicaid, SNAP, and HUD grants. These discussions highlighted our intergovernmental partnership and focused on collaboration, proactive leadership, and maintaining effective community services.
I was invited to attend the President's joint address to Congress as the guest of Congresswoman McCollum. This opportunity showed the importance of partnerships and collaboration between local and federal government to drive meaningful change for our communities.
My office is always here to answer your questions and navigate governmental services. Please feel free to reach out via phone at (651-266-8359) or email at Maryjo.McGuire@co.ramsey.mn.us
Take care,
Mary Jo McGuire Ramsey County Commissioner, District 2
