Health and Wellness in Ramsey County

Radon Icon

National Radon Action Month

January is National Radon Action Month. Radon is a public health concern in Minnesota where two in five homes have radon levels that can cause health impacts.

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can seep up from the soil surrounding homes. The gas can come through pores, cracks and floor-wall joints in your home. Winter home heating systems tend to draw in radon gas from the soil, increasing radon levels inside the home during this time of year.

Learn more about radon and how to test your home.

New webpage with cannabis information

Residents, businesses and local government can now find information about cannabis rules and regulations on the county website. The new page ramseycounty.us/Cannabis includes important information about state laws, county ordinances and more.

The State of Minnesota's Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) updated their timeline for Social Equity business licensing applications. The program will open on Jan. 15. Visit the OCM website to get the latest updates.
