Registration for the Plastic-Free Challenge is now open! Start the new year off right by resolving to reduce your impact and be part of the solution with the Plastic-Free Challenge. Starting Feb. 1, this month-long challenge will help you reduce plastic consumption in ways that fit best in your lifestyle and are most impactful to reducing your footprint.

How to declutter and stay decluttered in the New Year

Do the post holidays have you feeling overwhelmed with too much stuff? Here are some tips to help you declutter and focus on buying only what you need. You’ll do good for your wallet and the environment!

Thought for food: Understanding food recovery

We all produce food waste, but not all of our food waste looks the same. For instance, putting an orange peel in the trash is different than uneaten food and leftovers ending up in the trash. In both examples food is wasted, but each one offers different opportunities for saving food from going to waste.

Ask EH: How do I recycle metal objects like hangers and pipes?

A: Do not put scrap metal in curbside recycling unless your recycling hauler specifically accepts it. Check with your hauler. Metal items can damage the recycling sorting facility equipment and harm workers.
