Ramsey County opens overnight Winter Warming Spaces for people who are unsheltered

(Saint Paul – MN) - In preparation for the coldest winter days, Ramsey County is opening Winter Warming Spaces in Saint Paul for people who are unsheltered. Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 11 and lasting through the night of March 31, the following three Winter Warming Spaces will be open every night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.:

On Sunday, Dec. 15, a Winter Warming Space for families and youth opens and will also be available every night through March:  

  • St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church
    100 Oxford St. N.
    For families and youth up to age 24

Winter Warming Spaces will have seating, blankets, light snacks (such as coffee and cocoa) and, when available, warming supplies (such as mittens and hats) for anyone staying the night. There will be a free shuttle service from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day, ensuring transportation to and from Winter Warming Space locations.

Through a continued collaboration between the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and the Housing Stability Department, the Law Enforcement Center at 425 Grove Street in Saint Paul will serve as a warming space from 7:30 p.m. tonight through 7:30 a.m. tomorrow for anyone who currently needs an overnight space.
