NYFS

Northeast Youth & Family Services (NYFS) is a nonprofit, community-based and trauma-informed mental health and community services organization that has been serving people in the northeastern suburbs since 1976.

NYFS services include clinic-based and telehealth counseling for all ages, school-based services, day treatment services for middle and high school youth, diversion programming for youth, Community Connections programming for isolated youth, and Community Advocate services.


Ramsey Connected

Ramsey Connected is an initiative designed to ensure all Ramsey County residents have access to low-cost internet and computers and the skills to use them.

Ramsey County believes internet access is a basic need and low-cost internet should be available to all residents. While Ramsey County is not an internet service provider, we serve as a promoter, connector and partner through our Ramsey Connected program.

County Rd D Reconstruction

In 2025, County Road D between Greenbriar Street and County Road D Circle will be reconstructed. The aim is to install a trail along the road, reconstructing aging pavement and installing an improved storm drain system.

County Rd J and 35E Construction

County Road J from Centerville Road to Otter Lake Road – including the interchange with I-35E – is scheduled for reconstruction in 2025. Ramsey County is leading the project in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Anoka County, White Bear Township, North Oaks, and Lino Lakes.

Family Farm of the Year Proclamation

Family Farm of the Year

On October 16th, I was honored to present a community proclamation to District 1’s Frisk Fra Boksen (Fresh from the Box), Ramsey County’s Farm Family of the Year. Frisk Fra Boksen owners Barb and Chris work to create low impact, sustainable fresh vegetables from their Shoreview location. Congratulations on the much-deserved recognition!

SPAAR Housing Resource Fair

SPAAR

Join the Sait Paul Area Association of Realtors (SPAAR) at their housing resource fair October 3rd. There will be 16 non-profit organizations sharing housing programs and resources they have available. The event will be held at SPAAR's office at 325 Roselawn Avenue East, Maplewood, MN 55117. 

SPAAR represents roughly 8,000 realtor members in a 12-county area. Find more information on them here


NYFS Open House

Northeast Youth and Family Services (NYFS) will be holding an open house event on October 24th from 4:30-6:00pm. Join them for a behind the scenes tour of their operations and learn about their various programs! The event will be held at 3490 Lexington Ave. North, Shoreview, MN 55126.

Peer Support Warmline

Peer Warmline

As a part of the MN Department of Health, Wellness in the Woods has developed a safe and free way for individuals to receive anonymous and confidential 1-1 peer support services. The Peer Support Connection Warmline of Minnesota provides early intervention and addresses the increasingly large need for peer support. 

The Warmline is available daily from 5pm-9am and includes a texting option, translation services, bi-lingual texting line, and the option to speak with an African American individual.

Cost-Free, Food Distribution at Local Libraries

Shoreview, Mounds View and Maplewood Ramsey County Libraries are hosting a short-term pilot program where culturally appropriate, non-perishable bags of food are available cost-free for families to take home.

Besides food, included in the bags are information on local food resources, like meal programs and food shelves. The program has been paused to get the community’s feedback about how we can best serve food needs at the county’s libraries. However, Roseville Library’s Keystone FoodMobile is continuing to distribute food once a month on select Mondays.
