On October 16th, I was honored to present a community proclamation to District 1’s Frisk Fra Boksen (Fresh from the Box), Ramsey County’s Farm Family of the Year. Frisk Fra Boksen owners Barb and Chris work to create low impact, sustainable fresh vegetables from their Shoreview location. Congratulations on the much-deserved recognition!

Join the Sait Paul Area Association of Realtors (SPAAR) at their housing resource fair October 3rd. There will be 16 non-profit organizations sharing housing programs and resources they have available. The event will be held at SPAAR's office at 325 Roselawn Avenue East, Maplewood, MN 55117.

Northeast Youth and Family Services (NYFS) will be holding an open house event on October 24th from 4:30-6:00pm. Join them for a behind the scenes tour of their operations and learn about their various programs! The event will be held at 3490 Lexington Ave. North, Shoreview, MN 55126.

As a part of the MN Department of Health, Wellness in the Woods has developed a safe and free way for individuals to receive anonymous and confidential 1-1 peer support services. The Peer Support Connection Warmline of Minnesota provides early intervention and addresses the increasingly large need for peer support.
The Warmline is available daily from 5pm-9am and includes a texting option, translation services, bi-lingual texting line, and the option to speak with an African American individual.

Shoreview, Mounds View and Maplewood Ramsey County Libraries are hosting a short-term pilot program where culturally appropriate, non-perishable bags of food are available cost-free for families to take home.
Besides food, included in the bags are information on local food resources, like meal programs and food shelves. The program has been paused to get the community’s feedback about how we can best serve food needs at the county’s libraries. However, Roseville Library’s Keystone FoodMobile is continuing to distribute food once a month on select Mondays.
