On Tuesday, June 25th, I led a workshop for the Board of Commissioners on a proposal I developed to strengthen the arts and cultural economy in Ramsey County. Research has proven that a strong arts sector promotes economic development, even a small investment in the arts can lead to sizable growth. In the meeting, I proposed several initiatives and investment opportunities for the County to consider in order to continue to promote this project.
My strategy plan and proposal can be found here under agenda packet.

The Star Tribune recently reported on a proposed Mounds View initiative to discharge racist language from deeds prior to houses going on the market [link to article]. In 2022, Ramsey County joined the Just Deeds coalition (an organization meant to help homeowners identify and dispel of racial covenants in deeds) in an effort to release racial covenants on property records.
On June 18th, the Board of Commissioners received an update on the County's efforts on discharging these restrictive covenants. You can find these updates here under agenda packet.
If you want to check if your property has a racial covenant and/or discharge it, visit the Ramsey County website here.
