My current principal assistant, Ami Wazlawik, will be joining Ramsey County's Government Relations team on June 17th. Mayumi Morgan, who served as an intern in my office a few years ago, will be coming on board as my principal assistant for the remainder of my term in office.
Please join me in thanking Ami for her great work over the last 1.5 years and welcoming Mayumi back to the District 1 office!
Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend the CAPLAW National Training Conference in Los Angeles. CAPLAW is an organization that provides legal guidance and support to community action agencies like the Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington County (CAPRW), where I have served on the board of directors since 2020 and currently chair the Governance Committee.
I was able to develop additional knowledge and resources on governance issues like conflict of interest policy, bylaws revisions, and financial management. Highlights included a welcome from Khari Garvin, director of the federal office of Head Start, and a keynote from Kevin Adler of Miracle Messages.
The Ramsey County Board is seeking residents to serve on various advisory boards and committees. There are six openings on the Capital Improvement Program Advisory Committee (CIPAC), one opening on the Personnel Review Board, and openings on the Workforce Innovation Board.
You can find more information about the advisory boards and committees and apply to serve on one of them here.
