New Environmental Service Center coming soon

Ramsey County’s Environmental Service Center (ESC) will open in Spring 2025! This new facility will make it easier for residents to reduce, reuse, repair and recycle.

Soil testing event set for July 10 at Eastside YMCA

Saint Paul — Ramsey County Public Health and the Minnesota Department of Health will hold a soilSHOP (screening, health, outreach and partnership) soil testing event 3-7 p.m. July 10, at Eastside YMCA.

The event will offer free lead screening of residents' soil samples, information on how to lower exposure to lead, gardening best practices, and lead and health information.

Help collect data on urban heat

This summer, Ramsey and Hennepin counties will gather data with the help of volunteers to help identify urban heat islands.

On the day of the campaign, trained volunteers will attach a heat monitoring sensor to their vehicles, and drive a specific route. Volunteers will receive a $25 gift card as compensation.

Reduce your wasted food: Take the Stop Food Waste Challenge

About one-third of the food put in organics recycling is leftovers or unspoiled food that could have been eaten. Join the Stop Food Waste Challenge to learn better strategies for buying food you’ll eat and eating the food you buy.
