Ramsey Connected

Ramsey Connected is an initiative designed to ensure all Ramsey County residents have access to low-cost internet and computers and the skills to use them.

Ramsey County believes internet access is a basic need and low-cost internet should be available to all residents. While Ramsey County is not an internet service provider, we serve as a promoter, connector and partner through our Ramsey Connected program.

In the Community

Tamarack volunteers

Earlier this month, I attended a volunteer recognition event at Tamarack Nature Center. Volunteers received jars of maple syrup as a 'thank you' for their service!

Are you interested in volunteering at Tamarack? Check out their volunteer opportunities here.

Earth day Clean up

Despite the chilly weather, a group of warm-hearted individuals showed up to help with our Earth Day Clean-Up event on April 20th. Along with clean-up efforts, the County also recognized volunteers for their service as part of Volunteer Appreciation Week.

Learn more about the County's efforts to address environmental challenges and climate change, including our updated A to Z Green Guide, Climate Equity Action Plan, urban heat island data collection (scroll to the bottom of the page), and more.

Metropolitan Mosquito Control District Resources

MMCD

As a member of the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) Board for the past several years, I was excited to have staff from the MMCD present at the last county board meeting. They shared a number of great resources and I wanted to share them with residents.

  • Check out the Resident's Guide, full of tips for enjoying a mosquito-free yard.
  • See if any areas near you have been treated recently by entering your address in an interactive map.
  • Get customized treatment alerts for your area or sign up for the latest mosquito news.
  • Reduce habitat for mosquitoes by getting rid of old tires. Residents of the Twin Cites metro area are eligible for free tire pickup and recycling! Learn more here.

Green Ramsey

Join us on May 1st to learn about and apply for green collar careers in emerging industries, as well as conventional businesses and trades who have shifted to more sustainable practices. Green resources and activities happening in the community will be highlighted as well. Learn more and see a list of participating organizations and businesses here.
