Roseville Juneteenth Celebration with Rick Sanders

Greetings everyone,

Summer is in full swing and I hope you are enjoying it! I've enjoyed attending many different events and activities across the district which have all been so enjoyable to participate in.

It has been great to see all the corners of our community out celebrating with friends and neighbors, building community and having fun too! For more ideas on how to get outside and enjoy your day, check out our county parks recreation resources

As a reminder, Ramsey County is holding both virtual and in-person meetings. Our board meetings are taking place in the County Board offices in the Ramsey County Courthouse. My office continues to serve constituent needs via phone (651-266-8359) or email (caitlyn.duin@ramseycounty.us).

Sincerely,

Mary Jo

Ramsey County approves $14.4 million in ARPA funds for affordable housing

board hra

Housing continues to be a top concern of our residents. We are working to meet the challenge of the housing crisis in Ramsey County through significant and ongoing investments in affordable housing. This month, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved $14.4 million in funding for eight affordable housing development projects through the 2023 Housing Development Solicitation.

The funds distributed will be American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, which satisfies the county’s commitment to obligate the full amount of its dedicated ARPA funds, $37 million, into deeply affordable housing infrastructure.

Fellow Commissioners and I joining the artists, and others, to celebrate recently unveiled work

Ramsey County Parks & Recreation recently unveiled new park signage throughout the park system to make it more user-friendly, accessible and welcoming. This project is part of the 21st Century Park Vision and new signage will also reflect the recently updated park ordinance.

Roseville Area Juneteenth Celebration

Many thanks to all the organizations who participated at the first annual Rosedale Area Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, originating from the proclaiming of freedom for enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth is a celebration of the freedom, culture and empowerment of African-Americans.

Community Spotlight - New Brighton Area Historical Society

Enjoying the rhubarb with NBAHS Board Member Mary Burg

I had a great time at the New Brighton Area Historical Society's Annual Rhubarb Fest. The purpose of the Society is to tell the history of the area, which includes present day New Brighton, Arden Hills, Shoreview, North Oaks, and Mounds View, and to preserve its heritage for future generations. Make sure to check them out and stop by their museum for a visit!
