Ramsey County believes internet access is a basic need and low-cost internet should be available to all residents. While Ramsey County is not an internet service provider, we serve as a promoter, connector and partner through our Ramsey Connected program.

Beginning today, Canadian Pacific Railway will be closing Lexington Avenue at County Road E in Arden Hills and Shoreview to replace their crossing. Approximately 200 feet north and south of the railroad tracks will be closed.

Burns Institute Trip

BI

Later this week I'll be traveling to Montgomery, Alabama with colleagues from the Ramsey County Burns Institute Learning Community Cohort #2.

The purpose of the Learning Community is to identify and address structural racism embedded in the County's delivery of services. This trip will  provide an opportunity for my colleagues and I to better understand the structural nature of the pillars of racial hierarchy; and how the legacy of slavery, lynching, and racial segregation shapes policies and practices today.

We'll spend time learning and reflecting at the The Legacy Museum and The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and engage in reflective, action-oriented discussions.

Severe Weather Awareness Week

Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 17-21. Learn more about how to prepare for and respond to weather events like thunderstorms, floods, and extreme heat.

Statewide tornado drills will happen at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm on April 20th.

Community Conversation on Public Safety

Comm Conversation

I'm hosting a community conversation about public safety on April 26 from 6 to 8 pm at the Shoreview Library. We'll discuss public safety concerns and what the County Board is doing to address them. Hope to see you there!

Need for Technology Updates

The Star Tribune published an editorial piece about the need to update the computer systems that counties rely on to provide services to residents across the state. This is an issue that I've been concerned about since before I was elected to the Board, and I'm glad to see it being highlighted!
