Greetings everyone,
Saturday is Earth Day! I look forward to participating in a local event and encourage you to find your Earth Day event, helping make our community a more clean and livable place for all.
The past few weeks I have been fortunate to meet with many of the district's local elected leaders. It has been a great chance to hear more about the issues and ideas at the most local level.
In addition to these meetings, I have been excited to be part of some major announcements and events. From Wednesday's State of the State Address, President Biden's visit to Minnesota highlighting federal investments, the Metro Gold Line federal funding award announcement, to the State Auditor's press conference on the importance of support to local governments. All of these events were emphasizing the important role counties play in facilitating development and reinvestment into our communities.
As the spring season unfolds, I look forward to seeing many of you out and about at all the great community events that come with a change in seasons!
As a reminder, Ramsey County is holding both virtual and in-person meetings. Our board meetings are taking place in the County Board offices in the Ramsey County Courthouse. My office continues to serve constituent needs via phone (651-266-8359) or email (caitlyn.duin@ramseycounty.us).
Sincerely,
Mary Jo

On Wednesday April 19th, I was honored to be invited as a guest to the Governor's State of the State address in my capacity as President of the Association of the Minnesota Counties. I am grateful for the intergovernmental partnership and look forward to working together, serving all residents of Minnesota. |
Very pleased to join with State Auditor Julie Blaha to highlight findings from the State of Main Street Report. Bottom line, counties need more support for the work they do to serve all residents!
I was very excited to join many other state and federal officials to announce the federal cost share agreement to construct the Metro Gold Line bus rapid transit project.
National County Government Month held each April, is an annual celebration of county government since 1991. At Ramsey County this month it has encouraged us to actively promote our roles and responsibilities in serving residents.
Ramsey County Proclamations
- We proclaimed April 3-9 as Public Health Week in Ramsey County
- We declared April 10-14 as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Ramsey County.
County Workshops
Annual property valuation notices and tax statements for 2023 were mailed to Ramsey County property owners in mid-March. Valuation notices include your property classification, estimated market value and taxable market value, which is used to determine property taxes payable in 2024.
Please review your valuation notice carefully. If you believe there is an error, now is the time to appeal or question your classification or valuation. The first step in the process is to contact the Assessor’s Office about your questions or concerns at 651-266-2131.

Great presentation with the Roseville Area Optimist Club, that featured a presentation by Roseville School District Superintendent Dr. Jenny Loeck and Delon Smith, Director of Equity and Innovation.
I had a wonderful time with my fellow Roseville Rotarians, packing up supplies for families in need with Bridging. They are a great organization and I hope you check them out!
Bridging, nonprofit organization primarily serving the Twin Cities, provides donated furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Bridging gives hope and a leap towards housing stability.
