warming spaces

Do you know someone who needs a warm place to sleep during cold winter nights? Ramsey County operates three warming spaces in Saint Paul from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night, with transportation included. More information is available at ramseycounty.us/WarmingSpaces

Ramsey Connected

Ramsey Connected is an initiative designed to ensure all Ramsey County residents have access to low-cost internet and computers and the skills to use them.

Ramsey County believes internet access is a basic need and low-cost internet should be available to all residents. While Ramsey County is not an internet service provider, we serve as a promoter, connector and partner through our Ramsey Connected program.

Apply for a Public Sector Academy Internship

The Public Sector Academy is a 10-week paid internship. There will be 18 interns divided into multiple groups. Each group of will complete two weeks in each department (Public Works, Parks and Rec, Property Management, Emergency Communications and Fire).

The academy runs Monday-Thursday from 9:00a.m. -1:30 pm for 10 weeks. Attendance is mandatory for the duration of the program. Participants are paid $18.07/hour and may receive bus/gas cards for transportation assistance. The next cohort begins on February 20, 2023, and goes through April 21, 2023 (can potentially be extended).

   Participants must:

  • Be a Ramsey County resident between the ages of 18-24
  • Have a government issued picture ID and Social Security card/Birth Certificate
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Meet income and eligibility guidelines

Grand Opening: Winter Rec Area @ Battle Creek

Join us on February 4th at 1 pm for a brief program, ribbon cutting, and site tour. We'll gather at the trailhead near the Battle Creek Recreation Center (75 Winthrop Street S, Saint Paul, MN 55119.) Please dress for the weather as activities will take place outside.

The area will be open to the public on the day of the event, so parking at the Battle Creek Recreation Center may be limited. Other parking options include:

A shuttle will run between the overflow parking lots and the event. Please plan accordingly so that you have time to park and get to the event before it starts.
